Truth about SNS nails

Truth About SNS Nails! What is it Really?

So, I have had a few people ask about the SNS (Signature Nail System) dipped nail products as an alternative to gel polish or acrylic. I just wanted disband the myth that it is a natural and less damaging service.

As you know, I have been a nail artist for a long time. I have seen many products and services come and go. Back in the day, we used to use glue and acrylic powder to fix cracks or splits in nails. That is all SNS is. The powders ARE ACRYLIC and can be used as a universal acrylic powder with any acrylic liquid to sculpt a nail extension. The so called GEL that is painted on the nail before dipped into the powder is just the GLUE RESIN that we used to make silk or fiberglass nail overlays.
Now, the new dipping systems that have come out in the last few years claim that they are a safer and more healthy nail product by adding calcium and vitamin E into the glue base. That in no way actually strengthens your nails. In fact, if removed improperly, the dipped acrylic systems can damage your nails the same way as if you pried or ripped regular acrylic or gel polish off your nails.

Here is a link to an article from Nail Magazine explaining about how
Acrylic Dip Systems Make a Comeback.

I am not saying that SNS is a bad product, there are several companies that have the same type of product, I just wanted to let you know what you are really getting.

As always, I am here to make you an educated nail and skin consumer!
